Hi. Thank you for your browse.
hitsujiko, the interior and furniture designer, is one of the quite unique designers in Japan; specialize in Europian Classical Style, from Romanesque to Mid-Century and and often designing for Churches, restaurants and bars, boutique etc.... with Antique items and things she designed.
At the age of 21, she suddenly got to leave Japan and moved to UK; there she studied mainly 17th and 18th Century Decorative Arts at Sotherby's Educational Studies in London for 2 years and then worked for a property company there to study 'real interiors in the real antique buildings'.
After coming back to Japan, she got involved in an antique furniture company and studied design by herself by watching many copies of old drawings and drafts of europian furniture, ornaments and building details, which she had collected in Europe when she was there.
Independent in 1999 and opened her own antique furniture shop 'S.H.P.'(Equipment for Shiny Happy People) in Meguro/Tokyo 2001.
She still keeps her own style of classical-type-of-drawings in her designing and it fascinates her clients and antique fans all over Japan.
