About Me

Los Skauters' most recent incarnation was completed after a successful late-night shanghai of two unsuspecting drunken gaijin in the flickering neon-lit backstreets of Osaka. Two of Japan's finest ska DJs, Skauters T and K, had been hunting down foreigners to join their band. They had decided that the frontmen had to look the part, be able to sing, dance, calculate pi to sixteen digits and, most importantly, share their love of ska, beer, and Dragon Ball Z.Madness' pre-'Fuji Rock Festival 2006' gig in Osaka provided an ideal opportunity to cast a net to ensnare candidates. Ali and Dan, skanking wildly in the front row, stood out as potential appointees. For better or for worse however, T and K could not get past the flailing arms and frenzied feet to talk to them - so they kept on drinking. After the gig (and two too many Asahi Super Drys later) T and K staggered up to the sweat-soaked duo and, forgetting to see if they could satisfy the other criteria, asked simply, "Wanna join our band?".The rest, as they say, is history.
