ABBREVIATED BIOGRAPHY
Sam "L-DUB" Lee and his family migrated to the U.S. in 1986 when HiPHoP was just as fresh and young as L-DUB himself. Rap music and its true positive form played a major role on L’s life as a child. Sheltered for much of his youth, L used rap music to help him zone out from daily life. L’s first remembrance of the HipHop culture was through TV and Radio with shows like Yo! MTV Raps, MTV Jams and Video Soul and artists like LL Cool J, N.W.A, Run DMC, and Naughty by Nature.
Although he was a fan of all musical genres, L took a specific liking to rap, because of its raw relentless vigor and energy. Rap didnt pull any punches when it came to lyricism and production and never came across as saturated, which L appreciated. L admired and studied the genre for hours upon hours everyday soaking up every element of the culture and style. At the age of 14, L began writing his own raps storing them in a shoebox. 10 years later, the shoebox has become a catalog of over 500 songs and thousands of verses that continues to grow everyday.
As an artist, L has released a series of mixtapes and other street albums and has personally sold over 5,000 copies locally. He has also performed at many venues and events including Club Premier, Pista Sa Nayon at Seward Park, The University of Washington, and more. However, his focus right now is on his album Stuck In The Middle (Spring 2007) and the V.O.X. BOX Compilation (October 2006). L is working on both of these projects with the world renowned DJ-XTC of Kube 93 FM, the biggest radio station in the Pacific Northwest. L is the first rapper slated to be released under XTCs V.O.X. Music imprint. His vision for his inaugural projects is simple. To make good, fun, positive music and provide a breath of fresh air to the industry and culture that has inspired him since a child.
