It was on a warm Friday evening, somewhere in a abandoned basement in a cast off Belgian town. Unforgiving soundwaves echoed against the ceiling, tempting to strike four brave lads against the ground. When the wall of sound got too big, they ran outside, where they talked about their secret desires and wishes. It was then that they found out that they had one dream in common, probably evoked by a nostalgic memory, buried deep inside the collective consciousness of mankind. It was then that they knew that they had to start a David Duchovny tribute band.
It didn't take long for the quartet to realise that bringing a justified salute to the great mister Duchovny was nearly impossible. Yet, they couldn’t bear the thought of disappointing him. That’s why they decided to step into Dave’s red footsteps and they established the Red Shoe Community: a clandestine, hedonistic society, devoted to soothe the pain of everyday life and temper the sexual, social and individual frustrations of their members – also called ‘red shoes’. All red shoes would assemble at a specific time, on a specific place. There, they would write down their problems and experiences in their personal Red Shoe Diary, and thereafter be ritually cured by the wall of sound that the four leaders - nicknamed The Red Shoe diaries - would summon with their instruments. That wall of sound can best be described as alternative grunge/rock, though there are many other influences to be found.
If you are interested in becoming a red shoe, add The Red Shoe Diaries to your Friends list and/or subscribe to their blog.
