About Me

Louise is an in-demand Melbourne musician; she plays the piano and her trusty nord, sings and writes her own tunes. Having studied classical piano from a young age she is in the process of completing her Bachelor of Music Performance in Improvisation at the Victorian College of the Arts where she has been studying under Tony Gould, Mark Fitzgibbon, Andrea Keller, Joe Chindamo and many others. Her playing adventures have led her to perform at a range of different venues in and around Melbourne, including the Northcote Social Club, Bar 303, the Toff in Town, Bar Open, the Wesley Anne, the Rainbow Hotel, Bar Nancy, the Edinburgh Castle, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, the Paris Cat, and the Brunswick Green, amongst many others. Festival appearances also include performances at the Darebin Music Feast High Vibes Festival, the Eltham Jazz Festival, the Melbourne Jazz Fringe Festival, the Quiet Music Festival and the Apollo Bay Music Festival. She has also performed on several live-to-air broadcasts on 3mbs fm as part of their “Live at the Convent” series. She has been fortunate to have worked with some of Melbourne’s finest musicians and is currently involved in the following projects: funk ensemble The Vinyl Collective, long-running and well-respected function band Reflections Of, experimental jazz ensembles Bohjass, The Shala Ensemble, Uncle Dynamite, and The Lynden Brown Band, and she also plays with local singer-songwriters Susy Blue and Emma Tonkin. She is currently working with bassist Adam Spiegl and drummer Adam Coad to put together a new contemporary jazz ensemble to showcase her original tunes. Myspace Backgrounds
