Up until a year ago I had lived my entire life in Oregon (other then travel), where "gray" is a season (that lasts most of the year); where you don't go to the beach without a raincoat AND sun screen; where a volcano has erupted more than once in my lifetime and snow is only in the mountains (usually). And I loved it.But now, I'm a Coloradan. The sun shines here 300 days a year, I walk to the bus stop in the snow in the winter, get bummed out after a few hours of clouds but am happy when it rains ("because we need it"), am used to horses in my neighborhood and could ride my bike to Red Rocks Amphitheater. Life is definitely different now.I do still miss the lushness, my family and friends, and the ocean. But I'm happy here.
