Myspace Layouts by MySugarSpace.com First of all I am a child of God working everyday on my walk with Christ. Some days are better than others! Secondly, I am a lucky wife to my wonderful husband and a blessed mommy to my 3 awesome kids. We have a 7 year old son, a 5 year old daughter and a 3 year old diva...I mean daughter. I am a teacher by profession, but a stay at home mom by choice. I am passionate about 2 things: First of all I am passionate about bringing awareness (and research$$) to congenital heart defects, the #1 birth defect and #1 cause of death due to a birth defect. My 4 year old daughter was born with a complex congenital heart defect (Double outlet right ventricle, malposed great arteries, severe pulmonary stenosis, VSD, PFO, PDA and a narrowed pulmonary branch..for those of you who are interested in the medical stuff). She has had 3 heart surgeries (BT Shunt, Glenn shunt and Rastelli with a homograft) with more in her future. Our daughter is our heart warrior princess and we owe it to her to bring awareness to this cause so that hopefully research will benefit her in her lifetime. I am the coordinator for a local support group for parents that have a child with CHD. The second thing I am passionate about is attachment parenting and grace based discipline. I think it is so important to cherish each child and see them as an individual who needs love, guidance and attention. I do not believe in letting babies cry it out, spanking or leaving babies and young children for long periods of time. I do believe in baby wearing, setting a good example, extended breastfeeding, attending to babies cries just as I would my own. I realize that my children are not an extension of myself, but they are little people with their own wants, needs, desires and opinons. I hope to raise them in a way to be kind, loving, giving adults with a passion for something that's important to them.
