I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Scribbles, types, pedals, chews, listens, gesticulates, exclaims, supposes, marinates, infuses, feeds, cheers, wonders, and even washes itself.

The Zach likes its bag, its bikes, its coffee and its notebook. Often found not remembering what it's suppposed to be doing, the Zach is easily amused and capable of sleeping under pressure.

My Interests

I'm an artsy sorta cat on most fronts.

Oysters, lamb chops, garlic, burgers.

I'm easily excited. You say "jump" and I'll probably jump.

I'm also a huge fan of writing, bicycles, whiskey, charcoal, music and Red Sox.

I'd like to meet:

Tireless dreamers. People who keep it together, who sleep naked, who look you in the eye on the train. Foot tappers. Juke box investors. Whiskey drinkers. Slaves to the written word. Artists, enthusiasts, wishmakers . . .

Music:

The basics = Dylan, Velvet Underground, Tom Waitts, Pixies, Radiohead, Neil Young etc.

Other current/ongoing infatuations include: Breeders, The Notwist, Lemonheads, Throwing Muses, Belly, Gillian Welch, Stina Nordenstam, My Morning Jacket, Blonde Redhead, Neutral Milk Hotel, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Arcade Fire, Yo La Tengo, Blonde Redhead, Weezer, The Rentals, Death Cab for Cutie, Breeders, Superchunk, Nightmares On Wax, Sea and Cake, Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, Tricky, Nirvana, Elliott Smith, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Violent Femmes, Beck, old REM, old Liz Phair, Bjork, The Flying Burrito Brothers, etc., etc.

I also keep myself immersed in American roots (picking, fiddling, frailing, foot stomping, etc.), reggae, and the rest of the music world that we all love and know.

Movies:

Wings of Desire, Raising Arizona, Big Lebowski, Double Life of Veronique, Election, Star Ship Troopers, Edward Scissor Hands, Groundhog Day, Mars Attacks!, Dr. Strangelove, The SHining, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Donnie Darko, Punch Drunk Love, Royal Tennenbaums, Triplets of Bellville, Spirited Away, LOTR, Miller's Crossing, Amadeus, The Professional, The Science of Sleep, Casablanca, etc., etc. ...

Television:

I watch reruns late at night before bed. That's about it. No real need for cable or to keep up with overarching plot lines. Netflix is my friend though; I'm all for watching an entire television series over a couple of days.

Books:

A few fav's

  • Angels by Dennis Johnson
  • Lolita and Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov
  • The Windup Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami
  • Mao II by Don Delillo
  • The Complete Short Stories by Franz Kafka
  • Heroes:
