I am a self-employed piano technician (better known as a piano tuner). I own Piano Preservation, a tuning & repair company located in Middlesex County, NJ. Travel represents a great deal of my work, commuting from private homes, to churches, schools, nursing facilites, and concert venues. I studied my ear training at North Bennet Street School, where I met some very dynamic people whom I now consider close friends. Many of them can be met thru MySpace Page if networking is your thing. My business services Eastern PA to Staten Island, & all of New Jersey. Mostly, I tune pianos for families with small children who are discovering and learning to make music for the first time. It's important to me that even my smallest/youngest client have a piano that is perfectly in tune at concert pitch. Afterall, these kids are beginning their ear training just now. Something that will last them a lifetime. I also have the pleasure of providing tunings and repairs for the New Brunswick Board of Education, servicing 18 pianos throughout the entire school district. (Kindergarten classrooms are a very nice place to work in the late afternoon!!) This urban minority school district is exploding with creative energy, but lacks alot of the funding many other districts have for music programs. For this reason alone, I find it my most rewarding set of "piano patients" to date. Also, I am priviledged to be the house tuner for State Theater in New Brunswick & provide tuning services for various other venues in New Jersey as well. Concert tunings are much more under pressure than home tunings. For one thing, there is a limited amount of time, not to mention sound checks, and stage hands. But, challenges are stimulating and you always get back stage passes to the show!!!
