About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas’ Myspace Editor V3.6 !
yes!! yes!!
where do i start i suppose at the beginning is good so here goes. i have been into dance music since 1989 and it was my sister who exposed me to the wonderful world of acid house and early hardcore and i remember seeing her getting ready to go on a night out with her mates and i was a bit too young to go and i was really jealous because what i heard on the tapes was wicked and i really wanted to experience it for myself, if i remember right she was going to too to's in frat ting colchester and she said it was the bollocks!!!

so that was it for me i was hooked. for my 15th birthday she took me to labyrinth in dalston lane and to make myself look older i had a big leather hooded jacket on and just confidently walked up to the doors and they let me in , i could not believe it i got in with no problems and i was well chuffed. as soon as i walked in i was hit by all the laser lights and the music was banging out from the speakers and i just knew that this was me.

about 2 weeks after that i got myself some turntables and a few tunes from the local dance music shop and started learning how to dj. i spent so many days a nights learning how to mix and i got a few tips from a close friend of my sisters who had been a dj for a few years so that was a good thing for me and i picked it up quite quickly and have been doing it ever since.

as i got a bit older someone told me about a night called awol at the paradise club and that its definitely the place to be if you like jungle so me and some mates went down there and man when we walked in everyone was well serious and just deep in the beats that were rolling out and i remember thinking that this is going to be a wicked night. the dj at the time was darren jay and he was setting the pace nice then it was kenny ken after that and then boom like a atom bomb a man called dj randall came on and 'oh shit this guy was a bad man the original quartz lock soldier.' i said to my mates that this a true master of the craft and that is my goal to be as good as he was.

i have been collecting records since 1993 and have not stoped since and i have racked up at least 5500 tunes but unfortunately another 1200 got taken from me a few years ago by some idiot who i have yet to come across but hey i can't think about that right now.

in august 2000 me and two friends set up a drum and bass night at the Saracen's hotel in essex,we called it subway because we thought that it represented the underground and also it was the name of a tune by ed rush on prototype and the tune ended up being a bit of a classic down there.
the other great thing that ended up shaping the subway sound was a once in a lifetime situation which was the meeting of sp mc who we bumped into by chance, we was at metalheadz at dingwall's in camden and we were trying to get a taxi to liverpool st because our train left at 1am and that was the last train to essex on a sunday so you can imagine our stress and we heard someone say to us are you trying to get back to essex and we were like yeah man!!
and we said why don't we all share a cab so we did . on the way we got talking about metelheadz and music and who we knew you know the usual shit and it turned out that sp new the same people i did and i was like man what a small world, he then went on to say that he was an mc and we said why don't you send us some of your stuff and he said yeah no worries i will.
a few day later we got the cd with sp on it and we was like man this is a boy with talent so we got him down to subway and that was it he was the new member of the subway crew and as time went on he grew and grew into a very confident a original mc and we just new that we found the missing link.
he has now gone on to be a household name in the drum and bass scene and the subway crew are really pleased for him and he still says now that he owes it all to us and we are very proud to hear that. the night had been going for 2 years and had to stop due to money reasons but a few weeks ago we had a reunion at the cellar bar in essex and it was just like old times.
over the past few years i have played in a few clubs such as the scala for a night called london zu which was wicked also i have played at herbal in shoreditch and the mass in brixton and zest nightclub in ipswich but i am looking to play out more because i love djing and nothing is better than seeing people lose it to what you are playing so if there is anything going be sure that i can bring the goods and contact me here.
hopefully in the coming weeks i will be playing at dj frictions tour night for shogun audio but is yet to be arranged so watch this space.that's it from me so i hope you found it interesting and didn't think it was rubbish ha!ha!
anyway take care peeps and peace!!!!!!!!
