I dunno nuffin' 'bout birfin' no babies!

About Me

Extroverted, introspective, blunt old woman with an eye for detail. That means I'll notice the lettuce stuck in your teeth, and probably say something about it. I create artwork, like this....I sell it, too. Let me know if you see something you like. Since most of what I do is nudes, I can't show you all of them here. Here's my most recent body of work, nudes and all.I am a proud member of EBSQ...

My Interests

history, philosophy, theology, biology, and a few dozen other -ologies.

I'd like to meet:

--a filthy rich art patron who loves my stuff.

Music:

I really dig bluesy stuff. Most everything else is good, but I'm not fond of pointless, grinding, repetitive heavy metal. Reminds me too much of Ravel's 'Bolero', and that's probably the only piece of classical music I truly loathe.

Movies:

Um, the 13th Warrior, hands down, all time favorite. I have a love/hate relationship with the Norse. Plus, i totally adore historical films.

Television:

Don't even watch the stuff. Rots yer brain, dude.

Books:

ye gods.. I'll read anything, but I prefer meatier stuff that feeds my brain, like Richard Dawkins and Jared Diamond. Like anyone else, though, I really enjoy good fiction of all persuasions.

Heroes:

Me. I'm a freaking goddess. Kneel in my presence!I also worship my husband, The Incumbent.

My Blog

Hear ye, hear ye!

MySpace annoys the hell out of me with its slowness and general Safari-unfriendliness, so I probably won't be posting here anymore. Please come visit me at my LiveJournal blog.Hope to hear from you s...

A rose, by any other name, still dies.

Jennifer Neubauer (a fellow artist whom I became acquainted with at EBSQ) asked me some time back to post pictures of dead and dying roses, in case she found them interesting as painting references.. ...

This above all else; to thine own Art be true...

Today I'm contemplating a revolution. I don't necessarily want to turn my world upside-down, but what if it's the best thing to do, for everyone? (it goes without saying that any changes being conte...

The Face of Bram

Not quite done with Bram's face, but getting much closer. Can you believe I spent several hours on this cat's face today? I know it doesn't look like it, but honest, I spent a LOT of time. I am rap...

To MINI or not to MINI... was there ever a question?

I spent the day yesterday test-driving and dreaming of a MINI Cooper. Yes, I know, its silly, especially at my age. But who can resist the complete and total cuteness of a MINI Cooper? And thats be...

Life is like a ball of yarn.

I got the background, the rug, and this ball of yarn painted yesterday. I worked the ball of yarn for some considerable time, trying to get something approaching realism. My goal is to be as good as...

Let's try these cats again..

I was so totally NOT thrilled with the way my first attempt at painting Traceys cats, that I trashed it, and started again on a different canvas. This is the rough rough underpainting of the new work...
