About Me

I'm a writer, a speck of dust in eternity, a goddess, a storyteller, a Bene Gesserit and the mother of two beautiful witchlings. I love cities and the world of nightbreeds, but I also enjoy the vibrant life and light in the forest. Right now I live just outside Stockholm, within walking distance from the forest and two beaches. I've lived five years in London, six months in Paris and three months on Iceland.
When I write I want to stretch the limits of reality, travel towards the within and out again. As a child I was a daydreamer and I loved the sheer feeling of existing. The world was vast, I was closer to the ground than I am now, perpetually fascinated by centipedes, poppy seeds and stones. I found myself in eternity and at the same time I remember realizing that life is short.
I've been told that I made my first book when I was four but I can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing and writing. To me, writing is being an architect and a traveller. When I write, I experience myself as other people and they don't always do what I would like them to do. Like killing a character I really love, but that may be necessary to the story.
My first novel SAMAEL was published in Swedish in 2006. It's about three brothers, two of them have the gift of being able to create new worlds, the third one has the power to destroy them all. The mythology in Samael is built on authentic documents, like the Dead Sea Scrolls. If there is a city called Sheol in the book, the reader may choose to google and find out that there is an ancient tradition saying that Sheol was the otherworld or hell.
I'm also translating a finished manuscript into English. Check out my website www.jorun.nu (in Swedish only).
