To dream the impossible dream...

About Me

I'm in Huntington Beach, CA now. Happy, fulfilled and in love. I feel that I have met my soulmate. I have never known this level of tenderness, acceptance and deep spiritual connection before. I celebrate it now and always.
I'm teaching 7th grade science at Nimitz Middle School. I have 160 kids and words can't express how they astonish, challenge, and humble me every glorious day I have the honor of teaching them. I hope someday that some of them will look back and feel that I have inspired them 1/100th the amount that they have inspired me.
Fundamentally and creatively happy - though quite introspective, philosophical and reclusive. I've softened the edges a bit, though Objectivism continues to underscore my world view.
"The great creators - the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors - stood alone against the men of their time. Every great new thought was opposed. Every great new invention was denounced. The first motor was considered foolish. The airplane was considered impossible... But the men of unborrowed vision went ahead. They fought, they suffered and they paid. But they won." - Ayn Rand

Heroes:

I just finished a year teaching the most wonderful kids in the world, at Nimitz Middle School.
My 7th graders are my heroes, each and every one of them.
They have learned so much, they have tried so hard, and they have honored me each and every day.
Even through the hard times, even through the times when they were not perfect "Angels" ... there was still so much for me to learn from, and for them to learn. And they did, and I did in return.
I saw them grow both physically (they started out shorter than me and by the end of the year most of them were taller than me!), mentally (their breadth of knowledge and ability to question deeply grew and became more defined and wonderful), and emotionally (I saw them go from meek children to teens with passions, drives, their own personalities and dreams).
And through all this I have learned just how beautiful a soul can be. And how amazingly beautiful 160 souls can be as they grow, learn, and become the young adults they were meant to be.
Thank you, my heroes.
