I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a badly aging punk rock type living in a mythical land called Brooklyn. For the last twenty years I've been in the punk band In Crowd (music and video to follow once I figure out the tech stuff).I'm also an academic and teach Media Studies and Video Production. I have a Ph.D. (that and a metrocard gets you on the subway) in Media Ecology from New York University My new-new book, The Encyclopedia of Punk just came out from Sterling Press and can be bought here at this link: MY BOOK

I write for newspapers, books, zines and magazines and on various walls, and I'm also in a "literary group" called Blacksmiths for Literary Progress. We do pranks and readings and should have some dates up here shortly. My musings can be seen regularly in the pages of and now in the online edition of the acclaimed zine, Go Metric

When in the mood to play Irish music, which is often, I sing with The Cogan Brothers and Mark Farley, a Clancy Brothers-esque Irish band.
