INFO
Wagner & Pohl are Katharina Hein and Barbara Wagner, based in Berlin .
They began working together in 2002, when they produced a playback for the Berlin Popchor (“The Way I Found You†/ Ladytron ).
Their following debut album “Celandine†features a fusion of beautiful, distorted guitars, purposeful electronic sounds, and feminine vocals. The result is the typical Wagner & Pohl sound, which they describe as “guitar-based electronic pop musicâ€.
Katharina Hein started singing in the children’s choir when she was four, studied psychology, likes nature and luxury, diffuse lighting, the four seasons, beautiful clothes, tasty food, and non-fiction books.
Barbara Wagner founded the booking agency Headquarter in Berlin, plays the guitar in the band Britta , likes sharks and donkeys, and is planning to start breeding the latter some time in the future.
CD
“Celandine†contains 12 tracks, including: 1 cover version (“Mary, Mary, So Contrary†/ The Can) 1 remix by Turner / Ladomat 3 titles from the score of Rosa oder welche Farbe hat das Leben (“Rosa, or, which is the color of lifeâ€) by Julia Dittman.
VIDEO
Each Wagner & Pohl song has been realized cinematically in cooperation with Lucian Busse
.
At times following a consistent plot provided by the song’s lyrics, at times expressing a spontaneous feeling or possibly just a color scheme suggested by the music, the resulting movies are always extraordinary, and are displayed on a large screen during Wagner & Pohl concerts.
The Wagner & Pohl video clips are also created and produced in cooperation with Lucian Busse.
