Edward De Juan, also known as DuWaNDeM is a Hip Hop/R&B artist from Toronto, Canada. Edward grew up with an alternative rock background and his favourite bands included The Smashing Pumpkins, Blink 182, Coldplay, Oasis, Radiohead, and Our Lady Peace. Edward was uninformed of the Hip Hop culture, and major artists such as Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Nas, etc... were unknown to him, until grade 12 where he met fellow artists Dub Dutch and High Definition, whom were classmates. From walking by his high school hallways listening to his alternative music, Edward noticed crowds in corners and was curious to know why the crowds were formed and in the center of those crowds were Dub Dutch and High Definition, along with other local classmates gathering together in a hip hop freestyle session. Edward was listening to the rhymes each artist spit and as the session carried on, he was becoming more and more interested in the musical style. Edward befriended Dub Dutch and High Definition, and they taught him techniques and the nature of rapping. Edward gave rapping a try and after years of development with no rap influence, and the assistance of Dub Dutch and Baby-TEE, Edward took up the name "DuWaNDeM". Edward is currently working on his first album, which is a mixture of Hip Hop, R&B, and Alternative Rock.
Over the years, DuWaNDeM has performed in various shows at locations such as Nathan Phillips Square, Dundas Square, The Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the CNE, and various Toronto schools, and each performance displayed diversity such as Hip Hop dancing, Latin Dancing, Beatboxing, and playing instruments such as the guitar and piano. DuWaNDeM is also the main video editor for Center of Attention Entertainment and he has directed music videos for local Toronto Artists such as Dub Dutch (Markham), Baby-Tee (Scarborough), J.O.V. (Woodbridge) and Nitrus (Oshawa) as well as his own music videos. DuWaNDeM's goal is to be the Jack of all trades and have a skill in all aspects of music and entertainment from Rapping, Singing, Dancing, Beatboxing, Producing, Playing instruments, and even venturing to Acting and Directing.
