About Me

daniel lucio is a jazz vocalist active in the bay area music scene. Born in Minas Gerais, Brasil, and raised in San Francisco, lucio offers a range of styles in live performance, including contemporary and historic jazz, Brasilian music, and r&b.
A multi-octave voice and deeply expressive presence have earned this young talent repeat performances at the San Jose Jazz Festival, Yoshi’s, and at Dazzle, Denver’s premier jazz venue. He has performed alongside jazz greats Art Lande, Eric Gunnison, and Ledisi, and shared the stage with Claudia Villela, John Santos, and Wayne Wallace.
Seeing the conversion of bossa nova into lounge music fodder, lucio seeks to preserve the essence of this great music in the tradition of luminaries João Gilberto, Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, and Ary Barroso, an approach he calls, “the new bossa”.

CD's available at live performances.
