A distinctive and adaptable voice in contemporary music. Matt Scott composes scores for feature films, choreography, theatre, art installations, and live performance. He is sought after for unique sound creations, innovative orchestral textures, and for his instrumental and improvising skills. With a keen understanding of the relationship between music and drama, and extensive experience of the collaborative process, he provides music which is integral to each project.
Film composing credits include the feature How Is Your Fish Today? by Chinese director and writer Xiaolu Guo, Death of an Idealist about peace activist Rachel Corrie, international award-winning documentary The Concrete Revolution, BAFTA-winning Nine Lives of Robbie Powell, Film Four/Stella Artois drama Scorpions, Greenpeace-supported drama The Seasons Alter starring Keira Knightley, and original music for Oxfam's Oxygen series.
He has been commissioned by BBC Radio 3, the Royal National Theatre, the Arts Council, Thailand Cultural Centre in Bankok, Apriticielo Festival Italy and worked with visual artists Marcus Coates, Jordan Baseman, punk VJs Project Dark, and Nigel Burch's Flea-Pit Orchestra. He started organising the Klinker Club with Hugh Metcalf in 1997 which has become a focal point and the longest running weekly venue for experimental music in London.
He graduated from the National Film & Television School in the UK with an MA (Hons) in Composing for Film and Television.
