Singing at every opportunity from school shows, talent shows, the local carnival and festivals, she knew from very early on that she wanted to sing and be heard. Tamaan grew up listening to a wide range of music from the standard reggae that was big in West Indian households to classical music. Tamaan cites her musical inspirations as being Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Jackson, Missy Elliot, Garnett Silk, Beres Hammond, Morgan Heritage, India Arie, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Alicia Keys, to name a few. Tamaan knew from around the age of 15 that she wanted to make a difference, hopefully through her music.
Having studied Law at university in London, Tamaan still persued her musical career, featuring on the single you hear now. Now aged 22, her aims are to make a difference within the young community, to walk the right path, closer to Him and finally, to stay true to herself.
