When Kevin Davy left the cool hills of Spaulding in Central Jamaica to chase his dreams in Kingston, he was equipped with nothing more than his acoustic guitar, but he knew that he had real talent and the confidence that he could write, sing and play good music.
It was a journey that took him to him to Reggae's Mecca - Tuff Gong, the home of Bob Marley, where he secured a deal and recorded his first album, "Young Gifted & Dread", which gave him two smash hits, "Bright Day" and "We Need Love". It would also win him fans the world over and several appearances on BET. He also won a special place among reggae lovers, spawning a new era in Jamaica's folk music.
Now in 2006, Yvad is back in Jamaica, promoting his sophomore album "Justice", co-produced with Michael 'Myrie' Taylor. He reigns supreme on tracks like "Justice", "Jah Created All" and "Imagine" (a cover of John Lennon's song) with a voice as smooth as Frankie Beverly and as potent as Garnett Silk's.
He's also re-establishing ties with legendary producers, Clive Hunt and Wayne Armond to produce his third ablum due out sometime in the fall.
His apperance on Reggae Sunsplash 2006 is certain to confirm that this artist is a rare and precious gem and continues to build on reggae's foundation!
