About K.O.
In the heart of Harlem dwells an unmatched Hip-Hop artist greatly known as K.O. Different from the norm, K.O. possesses a unique delivery, versatility in rhyme schemes, lyrical content, hard-hitting metaphors and similes, and an electrifying /memorable stage performance. Wise and gifted beyond his years, this prolific writer and trend setting artist is highly anticipated and welcomed by the Hip-Hop mainstream audience.
K.O. : I bring to a beat, what a lot of artist can’t. And that’s heat. I know what audience I want to appeal to, and in-turn, through performing live shows, I know what they want to hear.
Making his performance debut at Club Speed in New York City during the hot summer of ’04, K.O. has been on the grind ever since.
K.O. : Club Speed was the first place I performed at in New York City. Like clock-work, I was at Speed every Wednesday making sure my presence my felt.
The smashing club/street hit, You Better Stop and It’s Over quickly became K.O.’s signature tracks that awoke the boroughs and put K.O. in the limelight.
K.O. : I got tired of those tracks quick. I remember them two tracks being the only two tracks I performed for five months straight. And that wasn’t by choice. The people couldn’t get enough of those songs. Bad business ruined my reign there. So I took the connects I earned and used what I learned to start my own label.
Rise and Grind Music Entertainment, acronym RnG Music Ent, is the recording label that K.O. calls home.
K.O. : I write, recite, record, mix, and arrange all my tracks. I package, promote, market, book shows etc. At the time, I was already working as label so I just decided to make it official. And RnG aka Rise and Grind best describes my work ethics behind my music.
Currently learning the ins and outs of the record industry, K.O. understands the importance of the business behind the music.
K.O. : I’m not trying end up broke. Been there, done that. Quality music deserves quality money if you know what I mean. So I stopped writing for a while and took that time to learn the business behind music. We ready now.
It’s no secret that the hip-hop industry is in need of a change, a new age, and a new face; and K.O. is preparing and patiently waiting for his turn to seize hip-hop and bring it into a prosperous era
K.O. : I’m far from a selfish dude. I can help a lot of artists on the production side with my good ear for music and honest heart. With God by my side, I know my musical gift won’t go to waste. Hip-Hop Forever! K.O. Forever!
