About Me
Former model-turned DJ, Nick Mitreski, discovered his passion for music at the dawn age of 15 years. His insatiable desire to enrich his musical talent saw Nick buy a couple of turntables and a bundle of records in early 1996.Nick always had passion and talent for writing music, many years went by with Nick using the more conventional instruments of guitar and piano before his fascination for the new technologies took over and introduced him to dance music.Over the years Nick (DJ Nick M) has performed at some of the biggest clubs and events around Australia and Europe, and his raw ability to blend in new banging house with classic progressive tunes and big mainroom tunes has proved Nick to be one of the most promising DJ's to come out of Australia. He's first gig was at Liquid Nightclub at the tender age of 15. Having to be escorted by security at the end of his set every Friday night for being underage only made Nick spend more time behind his computer understanding the production side of dance music whilst everyone else was still partying.Throughout his teens Nick spend endless hours on his computer-turned-studio using demo applications and music software learning dance production. At 18 years of age Nick had his big break in the DJ scene, he was discovered by underage events promoter Paul Barbaro who soon learnt of Nicks desire to be a DJ when he met him at a fashion show Nick was appearing in, later that year Nick had played at every major underage festival and appeared regularly on Kix FM radio station.Since then Nick has supported international dj's such as; Sash, Darude, Yakooza, Tidy Boys, Tribal Kings, Tina Cousins, Disco Punks, Gavin McFarlane, Ruby plus many more, during which still working on song writing and music production on the side. One day long time friend and DJ idol Mark Pellegrini introduced Nick to his soon to be mentor; Marcus Knight. Nicks inability to play a large variety of instruments and his knowledge around a professional studio was displayed during a studio session during Marcus Knight's production of 'Famous', and then not long after Marcus began mentoring Nick and assisting him to become what he believes will be 'the next big thing'....He has had over 60 residencies over the years and played at hundreds of events, some of which including the worlds biggest underage festival (Kixfest 2001), Busta Rhymes private party, Various fashion launches, Ralph magazine private party, girls of the FHM fundraising event, and many more to mention...Nick's first official release came out in August 2008 (under the alias 'the kid') through generation records, since then Nick has constantly been in the studio refining his style and attempting to pioneer a new sound.... watch out for this kid......
