About Me

"
I'm always looking to work with ambitious and talented bands or individuals who are looking to create professional recordings or to improve the quality of their current product. Ultimately, my goal is to help bands reach their full potential during the recording and production process. I have no gimmicks and no magic wand-- just proven methods that work in the studio to make your songs sound great. Check out bands I've done on my player.
I welcome you to come visit Soundmine Recording. Just call 570-223-2237 or email the studio site and I'll set up the most convenient time for you. Thank you for visiting www.myspace.com/danmalsch.
Here’s my Bio …
I started playing guitar at twelve and began writing songs and playing in bands at fourteen. After spending my teens playing in bands in New York, I worked in a music store and a small recording and rehearsal studio as I planned my career in the music industry. I eventually landed a record deal with BMG with the band Wicked Maraya. This record deal allowed for a big budget and a high quality production team as well as access to serious recording equipment.
I became interested in music production while recording the band’s first album at Morrissound Studios in Tampa, where I encountered the SSL G+ used by famed metal producer Jim Morris (Warrant, Savatage, Cannibal Corpse). At this point I realized the direction of my music interest: audio recording. In addition to Morrissound I also recorded in Frankfurt at Dolphin Studios and in Frank Farian’s CAS studios in Sauerbraten; consequently, these studios and their engineers influenced my decision to become serious about music and the recording process.
After touring Europe extensively in the early nineties, I returned home and decided to begin development of my own home studio in Pennsylvania. During the next three years I lay the plans for a bigger and better studio that would become Soundmine Recording. As a self-taught songwriter, engineer, mixer, and producer, I constructed Soundmine Recording in 1998 and have been generating major label quality recordings ever since.
Lately, I’ve been working in all genres, but my roots are in hard rock and metal, which show through in a lot of my projects. Overall, I love all styles of music and the talented people who make great music.
I welcome you and your band to visit Soundmine Recording and hear my work in person. You won’t be disappointed…
Some of my clients at Soundmine Recording include Tantric (SMG), Forever the Sickest Kids (Universal), The Naked Brothers Band (Sony), Doro Pesch (SPV), Simone (Koch), Bigwig (Fearless), Punchline (Fueled By Ramen), TGL (Oort), Lifer (Universal/ Republic), Split Fifty (Masquerade), Libby Johnson (Wrong) and many more.
I have collaborated with a number of talented musicians and producers at my studio in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania including Toby Wright (Alice in Chains, Three Doors Down, Korn), Steve Lyon (The Cure, Depeche Mode, Ramon), Joe West (Cash Money Millionaires, Dream), Shep Goodman (LFO, Bayside, Mandy Moore), Dan Wise (Scissor Sisters, Secret Machines), Brett Hestla (Tantric).
Additionally, bands can choose to work with the production team of Dan Malsch and Dan Wise as we offer experience and success in the production of a variety of musical genres to an extensive list of clients.
