BIG OIL

About Me

..
Bubbling up from the swamps of Gainesville, FL, this hard-rockin' quartet first came together in early 2001 to form a y'allternative to the Gainesville mainstream. Featuring a loud, blistering, groove-heavy guitar-laden assault, mixing together touches of southern rock, country, grunge, 70's arena-rock & metal, and post-punk, BIG OIL seems poised to challenge for some serious airplay & mass-audience attention. With the release of its first full-length CD, BLACK GOLD (2003-Soapy Fist Records), BIG OIL showcases all sides of its powerful soundfrom kick-out-the-barstool rock to metallic wah-soaked jamswith surprisingly heart-felt lyrics all delivered with a rawness and passion rarely seen in most bands today ignoring the slickness most bands aspire to in exchange for an honest representation of their music. Eight songs clocking in at 35 minutes, which take the listener on a short-yet-dense-trip through the labyrinth of rock history , with singalong vice-soaked lyrics, dynamic instrumentationfamiliar, yet differentand a mutha of a live show as wellMembers of Big Oil are veterans of dozens of Gainesville bands including: Grain, Gritkisser, AllStar 69, Skowse, Shitkicker, etcCONTACT BIG OIL : [email protected]
