BYBLIS is a Quintett from Bottrop (GERMANY) with the pursuit of forging a dark and heavy metal-hybrid without being limited by deadlocked dogmatic musical conventions.
BYBLIS is mainly formed by ex-members of the HC/Metal Band ALABAMA ROADSTARS which were found in 1999. Right from the beginning they played many shows (with acts like Caliban, Morser, Knut, Deadlock, Jane, Traktor, November coming fire, Doomriders just to mention a few) and released a split-CD on Belgium independent label Wanted Recordings a well as an EP on the German independent label Vivian Records. They gathered some good reviews in some respective magazines and e-zines. For seven years ALABAMA ROADSTARS layed the headstone for what will be known as BYBLIS in the forthcoming future.
BYBLIS is mixing uncompromising death and black metal riffs with bone-crushing doom elements and some progressive influences as well. This mixture is refined by the melodic and atmospheric guitar work. The vocalist recite the dark lyrics with brutal grunts and threatening screams. All these elements create an uncompromisingly irresistible heavy and dark sound, the sound of BYBLIS.
The Band is currently in the process of writing material of which three songs were already recorded at the Abscence-Studio(Dortmund) (Deadsoil etc.) in August 2006. Now the band is ready to blow the masses away with their extreme musical creation.
So everyone who is into extreme heavy music should really check this fine band out and should be there when they are in town.
