About Me

MyGen Profile Generator Heres a few live vids of the band I'm in, at the Boardwalk (23.09.06).Win Win Situation ..Play Dead ..Point Of View (Solo Clip) ..Devils Pact ..(08/08/06) Well from what you've probably gathered, I'm known as JC. My full name is James Cutts and I'm a guitar teacher at Get Sorted Academy Of Music. I'm 19 been playin for almost 5 years now, and I do guitar / backing vocals in a band called 'In The Name Of', we've recorded a couple of songs. To have a listen check out our myspace profile, its in my top friends. Note: The 0 in the profile address is a zero folks, cos some fool has already taken www.myspace.com/inthenameof with a blank profile and no pics last time I checked. Anyways *has a breather*... quite recently I decided to have a bash at singing lead vocals for the first time. It was a challenge and my first song is completed, and, its here for anyone who wants a gander, to check it out. Its also up for grabs as a download for better quality if you decide you like it. Its still a demo though... In this track I also play Guitar & Bass. I sing the backing vocals also, but the drums, I have to admit are built piece by piece from individual pro-recorded drum samples. Still I'm proud to have written and sung a song of my own because I thought it was something I would never have been able to do. There is also another track uploaded which I did early last year, could have even been before actually :S who knows?. Its an instrumental guitar orientated rock track called 'Jammin' In The Hall' and people who have heard this song upto press seemed to like it a lot, so I thought I'd upload it for y'all to listen too. As I write more tracks I will upload them here. Feel free to leave a comment people and other than that, Cheers for listening...(09/08/06) Another day another song, haha. Last night I recorded all the music for this track and then recorded the vocals today. It was even more fun than the last! Check it out and cheers for listenin' again people!(10/08/06) Today I thought I may aswell upload one more song to the player to fill it up. So I uploaded another track entitled 'Runnin' Blind' which is the title track of my first instrumental album. Theres quite alot of energy behind this track and I hope you all like it. :D

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: At the moment, just a lone JC, my Pod Xt (Guitar Fx Processor) & My Recording software for PC.
Influences: Plenty, the list changes but my biggest influences in songwriting lately are: Danger Danger, Skidrow, Poison, Freak Of Nature, Dire Straits, Mötley Crüe, Slashes Snakepit, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Thunder, Thin Lizzy, Michael Shenker Group/Mcauly Shenker Group & Jimi Hendrix (For his rhythm playing and song writing capabilities). So alot of old school stuff really. But I do try and put a new edge on things in my music, because afterall things have got to progress as time goes on...As for virtuoso guitarists: Steve Vai's gotta be my biggest influence for technique and lead guitar inspiration, and is one of my favourite guitarists of all time from the day I heard the Whitesnake album - Slip Of The Tongue when I was about 6. Joe Satriani for pure instrumental melodic genius, Paul Gilbert for his monster alternate picking and amazing song ideas throughout Mr. Big & Racer X. John Petrucci has also been a huge influence since I first heard Another Day by Dream Theater and, after checking out more of their stuff, realised he was really versitile and stupidly tight with time signatures. There is more, but I just can't think right now...Also, over the period of time I've been playing I've had influences from many other guitarists. Some of which arn't my biggest influences anymore because I've either decided to take a different route which strayed away from them, or, they dont excell the standards I've set myself from listening to the new wave of virtuoso guitarists because of hindsight. However, they're still stuck in the back of my mind as inspirational benchmarks for various reasons: Jimmy Page of Led Zepplin, Richie Blackmore - Rainbow & Deep Purple, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray and Janick Gers from Iron Maiden, Scott Dalhover and Danny Aaron, from a band you've most likely never heard of called Dangerous Toys, Andy Powell & Ted Turner from Wishbone Ash. Bill Nelson of Be-Bop Deluxe, Rory Gallagher & I'll wrap it up for the moment with Tom Scholz of Boston until I remember the rest.
Record Label: All my tracks are recorded in my bedroom...
