About Me

I am passionate to see women reach their full potential in Christ. So when Pastor Skip asked me to start a women's ministry nearly 4 years ago, I was thrilled. WOW is all about empowering women, healing hearts, finding real lasting friendships,and connecting women to Jesus. Women of the Word is no typical women's group. We're not a quilting bee, a stereotypical support group, or a boring religious club. We are daughters of the King, coming together as sisters to be empowered and stirred up; he's asking us to join him in his kingdom work where normal rules don't apply. Our group is comprised of ladies that will lay hands on the sick and they WILL be healed, who will speak His words of life and set captives free. We are warriors, fierce lovers and fighters, and we are a part of a work of God that is so much bigger than us. We are all different but we are all called by the same God to be a mighty force to be reckoned with (Prv 31). We are not an elite group, we aren't perfect, BUT WE ARE HIS, JUST LIKE YOU ARE. And we know that nothing is impossible for him (or her) who believes, and that if God goes with us, there are no limits to what can be accomplished In our fellowship, we've witnessed healings, salvations, and the greatest miracle of all, changed hearts and transformed lives. You too have great beauty and power with in. Do you have this confidence? He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." John 14:12-14ARE YOU ANYONE? Do you have faith in him? Then he says YOU will be doing what he did and even greater things! What did he do? He brought people back to life, he walked on water, he healed the blind, he read hearts like a book, he connected people to their Father, he spoke the truth, he set people free from bondage, he forgave those who hurt him, and even healed their hearts and so much more! He's calling us ladies to step up and realize our potential in Him. It's time to start taking him at his word and rising up to the occasion. It all starts with this, remember to set aside quality time where you can be fully devoted to your father and listen to what he has to say to you. Don't forget the awesome questions he's invited us to ask him:"Who am I to you Lord?""What miracles will I do for you?""What signs and wonders will follow me as I believe you?"The answers he's given our sisters have been blowing us away! Don't miss out on hearing from him personally. He has something amazing for each of you. As he speaks, you will be empowered, your faith will be stirred up and who knows what great things you will do for his kingdom?! Life is full of distractions. Many good things compete for our time. But as Jesus said to overspent Martha, "only one thing is needed": "…he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!" "Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "You are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." (Luke 10:38-42) WOW exists to empower women with the Word and Love of Christ experienced through personal study time and quality “sister time” so that we “…may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:10)myspace layouts & contact tables

My Interests

This website is mostly about Rise Above's Women of the Word (WOW) ministry and a little bit about me (Lenay Vale, Women's Pastor). You can expect to find devotionals, testimonies from Women of the word, invites to fellowship events, encouraging messages, disscussions on relevant issues, poetry, Q & A, a place to go for prayer, scriptural advice, or encouragement, and a way to stay connected with Rise Above women and some of the guys too. Women of the Word meets every Thursday at 7pm. CAPE COD Apartments, 13030 BLANCO, apt 403. I'd be happy to email directions to any one that's interested.

Only he can satisfy our souls and meet our deepest needs for intimate love. Many of us have sought for man to meet these needs. And they have fallen short, leaving us disappointed and even wounded. This is because our husbands are meant to reflect Christ’s Love to us but Never to Replace it. Join us as we discover the One who fights for us, pursues us, woos us, and rejoices over us as a groom does his bride. Heroes:

Jesus Christ who has saved my life countless times and given me every good thing, including my husband Sammy who is my one and only perfect fit, my precious baby girl Victoria Pearl, my awesome church family at Rise Above and this amazing Women's ministry through which I have met countless remarkable sisters in Christ.. I’ve been going to church all my life, and I’ve always heard people refer to the church as a family. Honestly, I always thought it was strange. In many cases, these people didn’t deeply know or care about me. I certainly never felt at home in any church I attended. It wasn’t until I became a part of Rise Above that I understood that a group of people with completely different backgrounds, cultures, and interests could be a family. I had to get out of my comfort zone and get involved to discover this, but it was more than worth it. I have finally found a true family that loves me and that I love. A place where I fit, and it’s definitely not because I look or speak like every one else. In a true family, you are free to be yourself. God made us all unique and in that we’re the same. The dictionary defines family as: “two or more people who share goals and values, have long-term commitments to one another, and reside usually in the same dwelling place.” The bond that holds us together is our love for Christ. We even have the same spiritual dwelling which is in Christ. If you don’t feel that Rise Above is your home yet maybe it’s time to step out and get plugged in. Our cell groups (small group Bible studies like Women of the Word) are designed to help you become a part of a family where every one is welcome and loved. "You are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household… with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."Eph 2:19-22
