Even those of you who have only a passing acquaintance with me have heard me say that I have no need of roots. I don’t need those emotional ties that we all carry within us, the ties of memory that bind us to places. Perhaps wanderlust is just inherent in my nature. Certainly a need to journey physically, mentally and emotionally claimed me in my mortal life when I was guided by a restless star. But stars endow us with dreams and visions...
My feet have wandered the world for over two centuries, sometimes at will, sometimes from necessity. There are many places I call "home.†Some are cities; some are hidden corners that exist outside the brush of time. But all lay claim to me in some way, because of an experience or an individual who has left a potent handprint on my heart. Some demand lengthy journeys, others are brief sojourns. My life is a vast tapestry of the two. Ironically, it is often the sojourns I find most profound - those snippets of time and place that pass like a blink and yet illuminate our lives. Everyone has them, and yet their very simplicity often leads us to overlook or discount their importance. Sometimes it is nothing more than the spark of contact between two souls - a shared idea or thought.
Think of those perfect and unplanned moments you were not expecting or searching for and perhaps you will understand what I mean. And then feel free to enter and share them with the others you will find here, mortal and immortal alike.
