First and foremost, the one thing you have to understand about Anna is that she is a big music dork. If there is one fundamental idea that fuels every other crazy idea and undertaking, it is that she simply loves music.
Anna utilizes her degree in Music Theory and Composition mostly to analyze rock songs, but it also helps her drive the car, run the car, fix the car and detail the car - an analogy she uses to describe how being a theory major helps her be a better teacher.
She edumacates the little ones at a small elementary school in Perth Amboy, NJ, where she has been singing and dancing and goofing off (and actually imparting some music related knowledge) since 2002... though if you ask her sixth graders, they will tell you she has been teaching "forever."
Since 2004 she has been a piano and guitar instructor at Raritan Music Center in Raritan, NJ. She averages about 40 mixed students a semester, split pretty evenly between her two instruments. During the summers she runs piano and guitar camp. During the school year she leads a small guitar ensemble. Between lessons she runs to Quick Check for gallons and gallons of coffee.
While she loves teaching, her real baby is Tigerlily Entertainment, a music promotions company she founded in 2007, on the principle that there are really just not enough hours in a day for a musician to hold down a day job and promote their own music. When Anna isn't putting together shows or hosting shows, she is attending shows and being a fangirl anywhere from The Saint in Asbury, Buddie's in Parlin or Court Tavern in New Brunswick. The most amazing thing about the local scene is that you don't even know it exists - and you don't even know what talent is living right around the corner from you... but don't worry - Tigerlily is working on changing that.
