Damian Holder, Project Manager, writer, and CEO of Catalyst Entertainment LLC. Three very separate entities all very much part of his daily life- not many people can accomplish that. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Trinidadian parents, as a child he would sit in the basement with his father and listen for hours on end to music, from Fusion Jazz, to Calypso, Classical, Rock and Soul. Together they have a record collection in the thousands. Damian’s love of music was so strong, that he would sacrifice his lunch money to buy a new record daily. To this day, he thanks his father for his diverse taste in music. When he was 10 years old, he and his family returned to Trinidad where he later attended Queen’s Royal College (QRC). At one point, his music teacher was the musical great Geraldine Connor, who is known for having conceived, authored, composed and directed the play “Carnival Messiahâ€.When he returned to New York, Damian obtained his Bachelor degree in Business Management at Bernard Baruch College (NY). This degree facilitated his becoming at one point in his career, a Financial Analyst for Footlocker Inc., to a successful Project Manager for the largest flooring distributor in the country, Associated ACC International Ltd., to the current Assistant Manager of Remodeling at Ann Taylor.Known as a very artistic individual, Damian is also a writer, a writer who is capable of mentally pulling his readers into the pages and storyline of his works with ease. He wrote the screenplay entitled “Bee’s Song†with Bunji Garlin in mind. Bunji has read the script and officially aligned himself with the project which is currently in pre-production. Damian is currently brainstorming on a new Caribbean sci-fi screenplay.
As if he wasn’t artistic enough in writing, he is also blessed with a good ear for music, and with this, he started and managed the DJ/Promotional group Wyld Jokerz. It was when Wyld Jokerz went to SounDezign Studios to do a “riddim†that all parties involved realized they had the same goal for Soca music—to bring it to another level. That was the day Catalyst Entertainment was born. With his creativity, determination and vision, Damian will make Catalyst Entertainment a record label and entertainment company like no other, not only in the Soca industry, but in the music industry as whole. Look out, a change is coming.
