G - LOC

Andre "G-Loc” Williams was born on January, 25, 1985 to parents Sandra smith and Michael Williams. He grew up in Portmore, St Catherine where he attended Bridgeport Primary and later Meadowbrook High. It was while attending high school that he decided to pursue music professionally as a member of the group Frass Squad with Nico Flair and Tarique.They performed at various concerts earning them an enviable reputation. They recorded their first song “VIP” for Small House Productions while still in high school and later that year he along with Tarique entered and won a DJ competition put on by the Star newspaper. Their prize was to perform on that years staging of fully loaded, which they did to rave reviews in the local media. However shortly after G-Loc would find himself taking on the industry alone as his both Tarique and Nico flair migrated to the US.He quickly moved to established himself as one of the front runners in the new wave of acts to emerge from Portmore. Through his performances and mixtapes he has established a reputation for his lyrical powers, often being compared to lyrical maestros such as Vybz Kartel, Spragga Benz and Aidonia. He has performed on some of Jamaica’s biggest shows including Fully Loaded, Bling Dawg Summer Jam, Portmore Awards, Spring Break, Gali-Day Bounce and many more.He has worked with some of Jamaica’s finest producers and has released a number of singles including War Dem Waa Fi Show Mi, Step It, Gwaan Wine, 9 to 5 and Bend Down Gal featuring Nuclear. With his sights firmly set on becoming one of the greatest he continues to record and perform quality music.
