Lance Benson

Blending acoustical jams with intricate guitar slaps & taps to simply picking a melody to remember. Benson takes control of the stage to share the stories of his songs that speak of inspiration that you can’t but help to tap your toe too! Raised in Northern Minnesota, Benson took to music at an early age playing piano and percussion which soon lead to self teaching himself to play guitar. The songwriting doors opened as he recorded his first album in 1998 titled M.E. Moving to Minneapolis in the fall of 98 to attend College, Lance took to the music scene playing street corners to aroma filled coffeehouse across the Cities. With the release of two more CD’s in 1999 & 2000 titled What to Say, and World to me, Benson logged over 25,000 miles of touring between college classes across the Midwest. Graduating in the spring of 2001 from Dunwoody Institute with a Degree in Electronics, Lance put the road first and began touring full time. “I’ll never forget getting my degree, shaking hands for a photo and having to race to the airport to get on a plane to Denver for a show, a beautiful moment!” 2002 brought the highly anticipated release titled Gestures that captured a full band sound and once again 25,000 miles of touring the States. “The road is amazing to me, people you meet, places you see, truly inspiring”. Folks have continually related to Benson’s music, up beat rhythms and inspiring lyrics are contagious. 2007 found Lance back in the studio pulling musicians from all previous albums to put together Mornings & Afternoons. “This album was well overdue but happened at the right moment in my life, it was beautiful to be surrounded by so many great friends & musicians for the summer!” Since the release of Mornings & Afternoons Lance continues a steady performance schedule while also blending the use of his degree as a low voltage installer in Northern Minnesota. “I love being able to blend many passions and enjoy many different areas of life, being able to enjoy a beautiful home life with friends & family and also having the opportunity to travel and share music…life’s good!”..
