About Me

I hate writing these sorts of things almost as much as you hate reading them so I’ll keep it brief. I was born in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and I’ve been acting in plays, and writing poems, stories, scripts, and song and rap lyrics since about 14, or before if you want to count my pre-adolescent scribbling. After a year out in Tanzania with Neo-Colonialists Worldwide (I think that’s what they were called) I moved to Manchester in 2000 to do a degree in English & Drama and when I graduated in 2004 I couldn’t think of a good reason to leave. Since then I’ve cycled around the country to research a long term arts project on climate change and sustainability (see my ‘changing cycles’ blog) and am in the process of establishing a company to enable this, called Moksha. I've also performed at poetry gigs and in theatre productions all over the country at venues including Contact, The Royal Exchange, The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Latitude Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Poetry Cafe, and various others. Over the last year or so I’ve been developing my beatbox and freestyle hip hop skills with the Freestyle Mondays crew, and have recently started performing and recording with a new jazz project, called Current Affairs (check out the tracks). If you want to know any more, or would like to book me for your wedding/funeral/bar mitzvah/children’s party, please get in touch… Oh, and by the way, I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
