Raised on fried fish, bluegrass, hard work and cartoons I became the man I am.God blessed and often stressed I get into enough trouble to have developed muscles on my hairs.Teaches me that there's nice people everywhere. Florida found me around campfires with guitars and banjoes, guava trees, mullet fishers, artisian wells and a hernia operation as the result of learning to ride my bike.Got a Jaws game outa that.WooHoo! Louisiana 7 years later and i was taking piano lessons, learning the alto saxaphone, shrimping for a few years(on a boat my family built;)and generally being a wierd human being(hyperactivity, pscyic overactivity, god sized imagination). I learned aboout muscodines, heat and the warmth of sittin in the back of a boat harmonizing with the motor.Laying on the floor after taking the motor out of a car for said boat I was listening to the radio and told my mom that none of the rock and roll on the radio sounded good to me.She said she'd fix the antenna,I thought, "I'll make my own music." Southern Baptist church(the more republican version of the baptists)all the time saw us moving to Columbus,Ga. More music,I played in the orchestra in church, sang in the choir, too.High School and the usual,I discovered skate boarding, the Subhumans,Dead Kennedys, the Cure, the Violent Femmes...wow!! After I graduated I joined my first band as a singer and learned to play the guitar.Heads in Havoc it was, with the illustrius Shamar Walker on drums. He's now one half of the Kumfort Women.Through time and members we mooved through shoe gazing to Hendrixy cosmic travel to straight up sonic funk in Atlanta where Shamar brought Simon Mason from London and Chris Pearson found me.We were Brother Watermelon. Moved to London.Played a load of promo gigs.Lost the singer and drummer to confusion and uncertainty on the part of Chris and I.Bad news. Swedish au pairs got he and I to Sweden, eventually producing and remixing for a few years.I learned to cook, another life long dream. From there we split,I giving most of my life up to make music.See,I have a daughter,Felicity, that I made a promise to before she could overstand me.Gambian hip hop and ragga,N'Dhaga,Drum and Bass, wierd shit and hybrids. Now I've found my formulas and regularly make beats and play my guitar, said beats ranging the spectrum. My band,Nice Life,is a mix of country funk, hip hop, rock soul and poetry. It's the rawest stuff I do,often pure cypher.Stories and story telling fascinate me,mine range from day to day to no way it could happen. It's all about the travel. Thank you for your time,it's been a pleasure talking to you.Projects in the works, hope to provide good, true listening experiences. Love.
