About Me

RELEASES

018: Experimental - Deersound collection !

CD collection with my song "Nasty, Brutish and Short" among other great artists from Uppsala, Sweden.

Splendid Isolation - Friendly Noise collection !

The song "The Bravest Person I Know" appears in a remastered version on this collection, availiable in CD and MP3 format.

Outcome

A MP3 compilation where all the artsits have used the exact same 5 sounds. I appear with the track "The Outcome Of Coming Out Is A New Coming In".

Tid

A concept MP3 collection on the concept, idea and ontology of time. A collaboration between the labels Deersound, Two Left Hands On Two Right Arms and 23 seconds. I appear with the track "Under tiden".

Friendly Noise Redmalm MP3-single

Things & Thoughts/The Bravest Person I Know. The songs have been availible for download at my myspace site, but these versions are mastered by Differnet's Tomas Boden. They sound better than ever before. Friendly Noise is my Favourite Swedish record label, so I am very honoured to have these two songs released by them.

Redmalm EP on Starving But Happy !

You can now download a new Redmalm release on the Starving But Happy site. Starving But Happy is a German/Belgian mp3-label who happened to stumble upon my songs on Myspace. Also, check out the wonderfully dreamy droney CKid on the same label, a one man band consisting of René Margraff of Starving But Happy.

BIO

Redmalm is my last name, my family name, and my father's father was the first one to use it. He wanted the name Redberg, which is the name of the part of Gothenburg where he was born, but it was already taken, so he was asked to try the randomly generated name Redmalm instead. And so he did. My name is the perfect postmodern name, relieved of all meaning and social connotations. No bedeutung at all. None at all. I've been thinking about replacing my name with a number, like 0123456789, xxxxxxxxxx, but I'm not sure that it is allowed. Yet.

Under my real name, I've made a great number of songs, both vocal and instrumental, acoustic and electronic. Except for my own pleasure, i've made music for two plays: "Det ..r s.. det h..nder" by Carolina Novoa and "Den sista tredjedelen" by Elin Brogan.

I've also played in Lemur, Carmine St. and Bugbear. When I'm not making music on my own, I write essays about human/animal sociology and play in Frankly My Dear.
