About Me

I've recently posted a recording of "Fluorine Harvest" as performed by Donna Amato at Bellefield Hall on April 20th, 2007. Written for piano and recorded percussion, Fluorine Harvest utilizes three motives, ascending perfect fifths, fourths, and clusters which are sometimes tonal, and sometimes not. In contrast to the musical value of the piano part, the percussion part is intended to feel improvised, though it does generally follow the rhythm of the piano. Also posted is "HeavyLight," a piece for solo bass clarinet that explores several of my favorite interval relationships via the unique register of the bass clarinet. Heavy Light was recorded December 10th, 2007 at Treelady, performed by Donghoon Choi. I've recently completed a four movement duo for cello and viola, to be performed in the early parts of 2008, and I've also just finished work on a setting of Rainer Maria Rilke's poem, “Herbsttag” for alto and piano. Also in the works is an electronic recomposition of Rzewski's "Les Moutons de Panurge," to be performed by Pittsburgh's IonSound Project (myspace.com/ionsound) at a concert TBA. If you'd like scores for any of these works, please feel free to contact me, and I'd be happy to oblige.
