About Me

Patrick Dailey is a refreshing new voice in music. An acclaimed "true Countertenor", Patrick is noted among the top young vocalist in the country. By participating in such competitions as NAACP ACT-SO in vocal contemporary and vocal classical, NFAA ARTS in popular and classical voice, the Omega Psi Phi Talent Hunt, and the Grady Rayam Prize in Sacred Music, Patrick has distinguished himself as an up and coming American talent. Most Recently at the 2006 NAACP Convention, Mr. Dailey was given the honor of singing the Star Spangled Banner at the Opening of the convention. Patrick is also noted for his performances in the musicals Fame as Jose Vegas, Smokie Joe's Cafe as Victor, The Gospel at Colonus as the Balladear, and Your Arm Too Short to Box With God as Jesus Christ all performed at the collegiate and professional level. Patrick is the proud founder and director of Shabach Praise. This group of six vocalists is known for their impeccable blend and musicality. Mr.Dailey has also provided background vocals for such acclaimed artists as Sy Smith, J.C. and Saaneah. As a proud graduate of the Nashville School of the Arts, he has the distinction of being a member of the award-winning Madrigal Singers (of which he was student director), the reknowned Pop Ensemble and a principle of the Black Heritage Dance and Performance Company. Patrick is currently a sophmore at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland where he majors in Vocal Performance. He is a member of Morgan's Modern Dance Ensemble and the world reknowned Morgan State University Choir and Morgan Singers. While at Morgan, Mr. Dailey has been a featured soloist with the Morgan Choir and is a 2007 MD/DC NATS winner. He lead the MSU Choir in "I Want Jesus to Walk wit Me" arranged by Colin Lett and in August 2007, he toured Ghana with the Morgan State Choir and lead the opening 3 movements of Robert Ray's Gospel Mass at at St. Peter's Basilica in Kumasi, Ghana. Mr. Dailey is a member of Soulful Symphony under the direction of Darin Atwater. He is currently a staff vocalist at the Douglas Memorial Community Church and serves a vocal clinician/coach at the New Psalmist Baptist Church both in Baltimore, MD. In September 2007, he was selected as one of four students from the Morgan Choir to perform for in the World Premiere of the 105 Voices of History: National HBCU Choir.
