About Me

&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp I'm into electricity (physical and metaphysical). I primarily do music and writing.&nbsp I approach life in the mish-mashed spirits of cholera-sanguine, joie de vivre, absurdity, whatever, etc.&nbsp Nice to "meet" ya..
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp The spirit actually can be looked at as a sort of friction that exists between the reasoning parts of man and the more shifting parts represented by sensations, perceptions, and the memories of past experiences with certain sensations and perceptions. As the tide laps at the shores of the island, the beach-front is constantly being transformed by the contact between the two entities of land and water. This contact becomes the defining point to such an extent that Plato made a gross miscalculation in positioning his center of reasoning chief among the parts of the soul. The individual may at a distance hold the world in abstract through her power to reason, but it is through her spirit that she actually meets the world.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp How quickly Plato’s Ideal Society would fall to pieces if the Auxiliaries were not there asserting themselves to maintain it. By virtue of its magnanimous self-assertion, this group of individuals would undoubtedly be the one to have its will most fully-realized in society. But moreover, the Auxiliaries would have complicated souls of their own, islands of reasoning adrift in a sea of bodily sensations and body memories.
&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp Ultimately, Plato mistakenly assumed an innate good in his conception of a justice helmed by reason when that justice simply didn’t exist in the individual, much less the state. He never allowed for what Desmond Lee, the translator of the Penguin edition of the Republic, called “the element of sheer ‘unreason’ in politics and human affairs,” itself the result of the peculiarly flippant nature of the human soul. There will always exist the man who will deem it necessary to walk in circles in order to come to terms with a certain part of himself. This part seethes like salt water over sand and radiates from every breathing keep of society.
