I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm an "On hold" nursing student. If I ever feel better I hope to continue working toward my RN. I live everyday in chronic pain, which complicates things, but has taught me numerous invaluable lessons- the utmost; to be patient, kind, honest, loyal and openminded. The mind is an immensely powerful machine... treat it well. I have Chiari, a congenital condition in which the brain herniates down into the spinal column creating severe pressure headaches. I also may have Intercrainial Hypertention aka too much cerebral spinal fluid. I had brain surgery to correct the Chiari in 2005, which failed. The doc took out too much skull and my brain slumped down, causing even more pain and debilitation. Luckily, I eventually saw a neurologist that recommended a neurosurgeon in Milwalkee. He's the one who told me that I had cerebellar ptosis (sagging brain) he also said I wasn't properly decompressed. I had the surgery to correct these problems in June '08 (Now I have a metal plate in my head!) I felt great for 4 months when my pain came back. It's not as bad as before my last surgery, but it's not bareble enough to start living my life again (or for the first time) I also just learned I have PCOS causing Insulin Resistance, an Autoimmune disease, hypothyroidism, and a severe Vitamin D deficiency. It seems like just as soon as I seem to turn the corner to a better life, I hit another hurdle... So now it's time to fix my health problems and see where I go from there. I live in Aurora, IL but my hometown is Wheaton, IL. I enjoy being with the people I consider my life-support... I'm an extrovert who loves to meet new people, but I love to be with my VIP club even more.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

God. My Mom's Grandparents. Especially my Grandma's mom, Tala, whom Passed when I was 11, but sounds like my kind of woman! And my Grandfather's mom, Julia, whom faced tremendous pain and disability in an age where auto immune conditions were still a medical mystery... Relatives say she was a "Saint" and my Aunt said we are "kindred souls"- I love my family.
