SPLOGE formed in late 1979. The band rehearsed most days in the cellar of a friends house. 1980 was the year that the band really hit the scene in Zurich. The band were originally from Waedenswil/KT Zurich. The band had an english vocalist, which was pretty cool, for that time ,in Zurich. The band started doing gigs around the lake of Zurich, playing WG's and squatts, and other communes. Openair gigs were a favorite too. The first changes came in 1982, when the vocalist 'Pete', because of family troubles, had to return to England, but later returned to Switzerland in 1983 . The band remained together, apart from some minor changes, until 1984. Friends of the band uncluded, GRAUZONE, THE BUCKS, BEAT SCHLATTER, MANSCHAFT, PUTSCH, AGRIPPA, XXX, BELLEVUE, ASPHALT and many other bands from around that time..This is a new space and will be upgraded as we move on- in- time.. :o)All song were recorded in cellars, practice rooms, or at gigs. It was 1980 and we didn't have much aquipment to record with. We could have had a single pressed, but I guess we were having too much fun gigging, playing around and being young Punks. Life was different then, and harder . We used to spend our days hanging out in squatts, and we would perform gigs there too.For us it wasn't just about releasing records, or fame and furtune, it was a way of life! When we started the band most of us were just 16-17 years old. Not a great age eh? but we were ready to rock the beat, and the boats of Zurich. There are 'more' recordings, and some are better known songs, but we thought they could wait . We wanted to keep the best of SPLOGE for last. p.s Plus, it gives me something to do!All the young Punks, I guess! So, to all Splogeans, keep focused on this spot. There will be more. We just thought that we would take you back to the beginning; to when we first started out...This is their beginning..!!!!HEY, SPLOGEANS, we've uploaded two new tracks: "HEY YOU" which was recorded in 1984, and, " BABY YOU'RE LEAVIN'", which was recorded in 1980; both recordings, like the others, were recorded live during gigs' and rehearsals. I"M TRYING TO GET SOME MORE RECORDINGS FROM MY TAPES
