About Me

Koban (aka Pierre Cobai) was born in 1971 and as far as he can remember his first experiences of the power of music came from listening to the psychedelic sound of the Pink Floyd and synthetic/industrial noises of Depeche Mode. Two of the main influences that led much later to the discovery of sound designers like Amon Tobin, Massive Attack and producers like Brian Eno and Rhys Fulber. Beyond these influences that can be heard, perhaps, in his music, he is also a great fan of Leonard Cohen's texts and voice.
After bad drumming, he decided to become a bad guitarist because he fell in love with Dave Gilmour's Stratocaster. And then, thanks to technology, he started recording his own compositions, remaining a bad guitar player but little by little learning how to use a multi-track recorder, analogic effects and a cheap sampler. With the advent of personal computers and music softwares, he finally found his way and achieved to give a reality to his musical phantasms.
Through some collaborations, he occasionally plays electro-rock with project The Burning Urge and scores for amateur movies, which is not surprising when you know how much he loves cinema. Since 2007, he plays on stage with Audrey d'Ithaque , giving the songs an electro touch.

Aujourd'hui, lancement du blog et de la page MySpace avec, comme de bien entendu, rien d'autre à dire que "voici mon premier post" et sans la certitude qu'il y en ait un second.
