*********************************************************** VMA'S AND LABOR DAY - HUGE PARTIES AND HOT STARS!Woo hoo! We started the summer season off with a BANG and we sure ended it with a BANG! We hope that your holiday weekend was just as swell as ours! The weather wasn’t the best but Life @ Nite still goes on! AJ Calloway and Beyonce. Photo by PatrickMcMullan.com ********************************************************Once again, we started off our week in Manhattan on Thursday at the MTV Video Music Awards. We just had to bring the Hamptons out there! We didn’t go to the award show but we went to the after parties. After the VMA awards there were a host of A-list after-parties! We were faced with the dilemma of which one we should attend. With some great connections, we spent the evening jumping from one club to the next. So many choices! There were so many people out that most of the streets leading to the clubs had to be blocked off. There were lines wrapped around the buildings, metal detectors were in place and the stars were shining!!First stop was at the infamous, TAO New York. This was one of the hottest parties of the night. It was the Blender Magazine and Glaceau Vitamin Water Post VMA Party hosted by 50 Cent and LL Cool J! We got there pretty early. We got into the club smoothly and mingled with the best of them!As soon as we walked in, we saw Richie Rich! After a walk through of the first floor, we went upstairs. There were a few corners roped off for the VIPs. We chilled and listened to the great music. Finally, we recognized two guys standing by the bar so we went over to introduce ourselves to the young rap group, Smilez and Southstar. They flew in from Orlando for the VMAs.We then spotted the Wayans brothers! We love them! We only got a chance to introduce ourselves to Damon Wayans. It was getting crowded so we decided to go down stairs and sit by the press corner where each celeb stopped for their photos. We had a great view and stars were everywhere!We saw Tyson Beckford walking in, followed by Paris and Nikki Hilton and their bodyguards. Paris and Nikki didn’t stay long at all. A short while later, Lloyd Banks and G-Unit walked in followed by Busta Rhymes and his huge entourage. Finally, the hosts of the evening walked in - 50 Cent and LL Cool J!! The crowd was too crazy for us to even attempt to talk to them. We were satisfied just to see them in person! (But LL did walk close enough to brush against one of us!) Other celebs we spotted there were Ciara, Chamillinaire, Cee-Lo of Gnarls Barkley and Mario.We got a chance to converse with Ed Lover on our way out and saw Kimora Lee Simmons walking in as we were walking out.We moved on to our next destination of the night. The Beautiful Beyonce was hosting an after party in honor of the VMA's as well as her birthday and the release of her “B-Day†album due out this week! The party was held at Jay-Z's 40/40 Club (how romantic, he's her boyfriend). Outside of the club there was the royal red carpet spread and scores of people lined up awaiting Beyonce's arrival. Everyone had a glow dressed in their finest! It was quite a hectic scenario, getting inside of the club paparazzi, celebs, and entourages all anxious to get in. The club was very sexy!There were flat panels everywhere with Beyonce's video's proudly projecting. We followed a friend who ushered us into the VIP room where we found the Birthday girl! The room was fairly small however, the stars were all Big! We saw Tommy Hillfiger, Tyrese, the power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce, Andre 3000, AJ Calloway, and once again our favorite tennis player, James Blake! We also ran into Damon Wayans again (he left Tao before we did) and many others! Jermain Dupri at Marquee **********************************************************Ou r last destination for the night was the Virgin Records and Boost Mobile party hosted by Jermaine Dupri at Marquee! We got there just in time because they weren’t allowing any more people in. The club was full to the max! When we saw Fat Joe making his way up the stairs – we knew it was going to be another hot party! We later went upstairs and saw Jermaine Dupri dancing on one of the booths. We spotted Sleepy Brown and hung out with Fredro Starr from the group Onyx. Fredro has also co-starred on the TV show, Moesha as Brandy’s love interest. He has also appeared in films like Sunset Park, Light It Up and Save the Last Dance. We then hung out at DJ Reach’s table for the rest of the night.Coming out of Marquee, we walked toward Bungalow 8 and spotted the Olsen Twins and later, Axl Rose going into the club! It was a very “Starry Night†and next year we hope to attend the VMA award show.Back to the Hamptons we go! There was plenty more for us to do before the weekend was over. Despite the weather, on Friday night we decided last minute to go check out Cain. After all, this is Labor Day weekend in the Hamptons! Cain was crowded as usual (with beautiful people) and once again delivering the desired "Good Time" we were with several friends and family from out of town so we got a table and showed them how we do it Hamptons Style! Every thing was perfect, the music, the African Drummers and dancers! The least favorite detail of the Cain experience is waiting on the bathroom line! Hopefully next year they rethink that minor detail!Saturday night we packed up in a limo with eight of our friends and we were off to the Star Room! It was the going away party for the previous owners, Scott Gray and Scott Storvo. It was still rainy out but a little rain won’t hurt! All we need is good company, good music and good spirits!**************************************************** *******We hung out on the hip-hop side with DJ Vibe for a while then moved onto the house side. It wasn’t as crowded on the house side but the music was also great. There we bumped into Scott Gray. We then went back to the hip-hop side where it was packed and stayed there the rest of the night. We chilled with present co-owner Charles Ferri. Then at 4am we called it a night!Sunday, the Tavern was bumpin’ to the beats of DJ Boris. Meanwhile, Cain was sizzlin’ at the season closing party. Fonzworth Bentley hosted, DJ Cassidy spun, and all the lucky ladies in the packed hotspot got a custom designed bag from hot designer LuLu filled with swag!For all of the house music lovers out there, it was a dream weekend in the Hamptons! Promoter Frankie B hosted a 48 hour Labor Day pool party blowout! From noon Saturday to noon Monday, Allen’s Acres Resort and Motel in Hampton Bays was a hot spot!People went there right from the beach or on their way to the beach clubs. With one door fee, they were able to come and go as often as they wanted. All that and great house music too? Now, that’s so Hamptons! Monday morning, DJ Mario Galegari and the Gypsy Tea Party from the city came to rock the pool party.Oh summer has been swell indeed! We hope the festivities continue beyond Labor Day. Most of the clubs are closed for the season but it is the Hamptons! There is always something poppin’ off!
