About Me

Aging punk rocker with chronic health issues, a bipolar II disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, and a drinking problem. I used to play in a cowpunk band that was spectacularly unsuccessful even though we rocked. We rocked so hard we got a record contract. We broke up almost exactly six weeks after our label debut was released. After that I played in two specatularly unsuccessful bands, a honky tonk band and a post-punk band, both of which rocked. We rocked so hard that we scared our friends' bands and the clubs away from giving us any gigs, so both bands broke up. That's me in the honky tonk band in that picture over there. The only person that was there is that baby in front of my monitor. We didn't get paid. Thank God my wife and kids tolerate me. Otherwise I'd be on a one way backward slide into the gutter.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Tom Regan, Francisco Dellamorte, Hugo Chavez, Father Uffizi

Evel Knievel died today from pulmonary fibrosis - not quite the way anyone expected him to go, even at the age of 69.  This is hardly a crushing loss for me - frankly, I thought he was alre...

You Are All Going to Hell!

Former Nazi Joseph Ratzinger, better known these days as Pope Benedict XVI (sorry for the italic - it still boggles my mind that a religion would choose an admitted Nazi as their arbiter of God's will...

Correction to "You Are All Going to Hell!"

When I refer to someone saying they "know" something fundamentally unknowable as an hysterical idiot, I mean that they think they have incontravertible knowledge of something fundamentally unknowable....

Notes from a Repentant Quitter

I smoked my last cigarette on January 6th, 2007, after 21 years of smoking.   I smoked because I liked it.  Fuck that - I loved it.  I didn't consider it a filthy habit.&nbs...

The Death of One Evil Motherfucker

It's the rare American you can find that knows that Sept. 11th is a day that resonates in any nation's history other than our own.  The fact that this same calendar day marked a national tr...

Is the Nightmare Over?

So the Dems pulled it off and took back both The Senate and The House.  It's widely believed by the moderates who make up the party (which is most of the party - if you think the Democrats ...

You're Kidding, Right?

I try to stay relatively apolitical on this dumbass page because the last thing people want to read are the rantings of a disgruntled, middle aged, Socialist punk rocker.  But I can't take ...

The Shame of Middle Age III

In the spring of 1988 I was faced with a decision.  My parents were well and truly sick of my shit and I was about to finally graduate Hicksville High School USA.  Did I join the Army ...
