Guarded By Robots

About Me

"Guarded By Robots are three people based in Newcastle and have been together since mid-2006. In April 2007 they recorded and released the handmade EP 'Fashion Tips From Myra', which included live staple and fan favourite 'Me Vs Traffic', a constantly shifting 4-minute burst of energy with group vocals and serrated guitars. It was an early hint as to what sound the band would eventually settle at: uncompromising and overflowing with ideas. In time the vocals have become stronger, the music more abrasive, but always with a main focus on producing songs that are epic, catchy, dark and edgy. The band forgo the use of most effects pedals in favour of energy and passion. A second EP proper is set to be recorded and released later in 2009."
Buy our CD if you like what you hear. It's only £3.75 inc. P and P (that's to anywhere in the UK and Europe, anyone who is outside of this area send us an email - [email protected] - and we'll work something out). The artwork is handpainted. The CD was recorded and produced by Johannes @ Digital Garden Studios.
We literally have about 10 hand painted EPs left for sale, so if you want to order one, do iit soon! After that we will be selling bog standard printed ones :(

"Despite being together for a short period of time, encouraging things are emerging from this three-piece. All of the songs on this EP have their own positives to draw upon. We await further releases to see what they come up with next." -HecklerSpray, September 2007

"Newcastle trio Guarded By Robots list among their influences Biffy Clyro, Minus The Bear, and yourcodenameis:milo, and these are all decent reference points on their 'Fashion Tips From Myra' four-track EP. Fans of Dartz! or Tellison may also find something of interest in their quirky indie-pop" -Rocksound, July 2007

"All disjointed rhythms, Dischord-esque guitars and joyous hand claps" -RockMidgets, July 2007
