I am here for Networking

About Me

Thirty years ago I read the book "How To Create Your Own Luck" by Albert Z. Carr. Carr studied lucky vs. unlucky people. Conclusion? Lucky people create a magical spiderweb, systematically reaching out to others over time. A big network brings more luck than a small network. The more people you connect strongly with, the luckier & happier you get. Makes sense to me.
So I'm here to find people I like & trust ... to build relationships with people who ultimately will become lifelong friends. One lady calls me "Swami", because I'm pretty good at understanding people's strengths & weaknesses by reading their MySpace profile. I'll be happy to share those secrets with you, if you want. And, along the way, I know I'll find a few business partners, too.
My story:
Cheryl & I have been married 35 years. Three great daughters. Our son Garth died last year. He was one tough little SOB. RIP, bud. We love you. We have 5 grandkids, and each is a gem.
I drove a bus on Miami Beach for 16 years. I loved driving across the MacArthur Causeway and seeing the sunrise every morning. It took my breath away.
But I hated having a boss. I hated working 65-70 hours a week for years, just to make ends meet. The kids were growing up, but I wasn't there for them or for Cheryl. And anyway, who in their right mind wants to drive a bus their whole life?
Plus, I hated the pain. My right knee throbbed when I drove. I'd stick it into the aisle and use my left foot on the gas & brake. Sometimes somone would get on the bus, look at my leg in the aisle and say, "No! Stop! Let me out of here!"
Worst of all, I saw a lot of drivers who even put in 30 years and STILL couldn't retire, because the pension would be a big pay cut. So they'd drive a few more years, then drop dead. There was no other way out. Great retirement plan, huh?
In 1993, I discovered the difference between linear income (like a job) and recurring income (like the residuals Paul McCartney or Stephen King get ... it goes on forever, whether you work or not). Easy choice.
So I went a different direction. Now I do online social networking full-time. It can be very profitable, and it's a great retirement plan. I like to connect with upbeat, adventurous people who I trust. If that's you, then probably the only thing stopping you from achieving your greatest life dreams is a lack of focus. I can help you with that.
Why don't you join my "Friends" list and find out? Maybe I'll bring you good luck!

Mom Was Right And Man, Was I Wrong!

It was 45 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. My mother made me so angry I couldn't see straight, and I let her know exactly what I thought of her stupid, stupid, idiotic idea. In 1963...
