Forming in the summer of 2001, Sack Lunch set out to play straight ahead punk rock focusing on these three essential points: to play fast, aggressive, and loud. The style is simple – nothing fancy, nothing overdone. Their sound has found the grey area between the late 80’s old schoolers like SNFU and Youth Brigade, and the early 90’s Fat Wreck staples like Face To Face and Screeching Weasel.
Sack Lunch’s live set is in your face and to the point. You won’t be left scratching your head after their assault of buzzsaw guitars, bouncing bass lines, and jackhammer drums. No stupid haircuts, no thrift store t-shirts of some college they never went to, and certainly no inaudible yelps of terror. Sack Lunch has opened for the likes of: The Dwarves, Leftover Crack, The Forgotten, A Wilhelm Scream, The Loved Ones, Static Thought, The Swellers, New Mexican Disaster Squad, The Getaway, Maximum RNR, Twenty2, The Spades (Holland), Near Miss, The Planet Smashers, Marathon, Sixer, and many others...
The first two tracks and fourth track here are from our full-length album that was released in February of 2005. It is available by contacting us, Interpunk.com, Downloadpunk.com, End Hits & Birdman Sound (for those in the Ottawa area), or at any show we play. The third track is from our EP and is our longest song; it's a good one for doing push-ups to. We are playing shows again, so catch us sometime soon! 100% DIY - This is independent music
