South London born Max Cyrus aspired to the world of music from a young age. With a father who worked at Decca and Hip Hop icon DJ Bizness as a role model he had a love of Hip Hop, Soul and Reggae as he was growing up. In 1997 Max Cyrus fully immersed himself into the Jungle scene under the guise of DJ Interactive and by the end of the year he was playing a regular slot on pirate radio station Rude Fm. His stint on the radio lasted over 4 years. His talent and versatility on the decks had not gone unnoticed as DJ Interactive went on to receive bookings from promoters in the UK, Portugal. Germany, Holland, Austria, France, Belgium and Israel on a monthly basis. It was in the same year, 1997, that Max Cyrus Adopted production. Access to the studio provided him with the opportunity to engage in the lengthy process of learning his way around the equipment. Over the years Max Cyrus continued to work under the guise of DJ Interactive and produced tracks released on Renegade Recordings (Purple Storm/Bounce) and Far Away/ Up Rise on Andy C’s imprint, with his tracks being played by the likes of Jumpin Jack Frost on Kiss FM and Grooverider on Radio One. With his dedication and focus Max Cyrus grew more confident with his production and left the Drum & Bass scene in 2003. He began to make more down tempo music and was noticed by A & R at BMG, using his name Max Cyrus; he was giving the opportunity to produce mixes of Dido’s White Flag. As the years went by Max Cyrus began working in the studio with DJ Bizness of London Posse fame. Together they began to produce tracks, share ideas and remix Mos Def’s “Marvelist†from the New Danger album. In 2004 Max Cyrus decided to take a year out of making beats and Djing to train as a Fire Fighter. Once Max Cyrus succeeded in joining the London Fire Brigade he began to continue his journey of making music. With production for Judah Racham’s (Green Jade) solo album in the making and music production for American actress Julia Bond earlier this year, Max Cyrus Beats is here to stay.
