People now and again still ask me about the music ting, so i've just done a lil' myspace of all the tracks i've produced, written, mixed and engineered under the name 'Kenzo'. I started in the music game when my friend (then and now) was just getting into music and formed a R&B duo called ASAP.
Fast Forward past making tunes on Music 2000, My First release was a grage instrumental called 'Piano Roll' though an unknown label called Black & White. It came out on 12" Vinyl in 2003, still being sought today. I got a few left under my bed for peeps who still want a copy haha.
From making Garage/Housey Tracks i moved into R&B / Soul / Hip-Hop as well as taking the Garage/Grime style i had to a different level. My Neigbour, who was also a reggae producer, invited me to his studios down East London and allowed me to record + mix vocals on his desk with no charge, I still thank him for that. First Vocal Artist i worked with was Lee-Anne, which taught me so much about vocal recordings and arrangments. I then started working with other unsigned talent in the ends like Ian St John, Lady Champange, dL, Dante + others. My next major project was working with a South London Outfit called NO REALITY. We recorded a few tracks, but it was only when 'The No Reality Anthem' was recorded, we decided to make an E.P, Which was released Summer 2004, Aptly titled 'The No Games E.P"
After the E.P i started doing some solo work with the lead singer of No Reality, Rebecca Williams (Impact), focusing on more uber-soul and r&b, we did a number of songs in the autumn of 2004, including 'Cheating Again' which was re-mixed by Reckless and released as a 12" Single only last year.
My Last Release was with an over-talented singer called Ally, through a collaboration with Indie/Funk/Soul Singer Songwriter David Lewis, The track 'Slippin' Away' was released through SOC Records in the Winter of 2005 on CD, with a Madman Grime Remix from Morph, a fellow Producer and Engineer who helped me mix-down some tracks of 'The No Games E.P"
Black & White folded, which allowed me to gain ownership of all my masters, while acting as a producer on Black & White, while claiming the Publishing rights to Nitro Music Publishing.
After the last single 'Slippin' Away' i put music on hold to follow graphic design, which i am doing now, acting as a Creative Director with the infamous creative label, x! Artwork.
Might do a comeback, who knows?........
