Things that make me sad …The shallow fluff that our news has become (stupid celebrity sensationalism)...the horrible atrocities that are happening in Darfur and elsewhere in the world that so many people ignore ...crooked and conniving politicians who’s only concern is lining their pockets ...that so many people are too lazy to recycle ...seeing pain or emptiness in anyone’s eyes ...that as much as I want to save the world, I can’t do it by myself ...that some people don’t appreciate the beautiful sadness in Ryan Adams music or the way that Rumi's poetry makes you feel love drunk (they are missing out on so much) ...watching my mom grow older ...watching myself grow older ...understanding that most people don’t really know themselves ...how just when I think I know myself I realize that I’m fooling myself ...how when I'm going through something emotionally painful, instead of reaching out to my friends, I tend to withdraw and keep to myself (I'm really trying to work on that!) ...the fact that I’m far too familiar with what a breaking heart sounds like ...that I don’t get to spend enough time with the people who really get me (remember, I admitted that I'm a bit unconventional). Please visit savedarfur .org for more info on what you can do to help the situation in Darfur.
Other great websites are one . org and moveon . org .  These websites allow average citizens to join together with
millions of others to allow their voices to be heard on important issues such as WORLD HUNGER,
THE GLOBAL AIDS EPIDEMIC, THE WAR IN IRAQ, ETC.  They only ask for you to sign petitions that are sent to
our political leaders as a call to action on these issues...My artwork!..
My adorable kids!
This is a favorite photo of mine. That's me dancing with my dad and Tristan is doing some sort of interpretive dance beside us, lol! It looks like something from Time magazine in the 60's!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People that are full of compassion, love, positive energy and the will to do something to make this world a better place.

.....and I'd like to meet these people simply because I find them interesting.

"A human being is a part of a whole, called by us ...universe..., a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest...a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if humanity is to survive. ---Albert Einstien
Ten rules for being human

1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, "life".
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately "work".
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're "alive", that means there are still lessons to be learned.
6. "There" is no better a place than "here". When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here".
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. Your answers lie within you. The answers to life's questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all of this.
