Aloe sabaea

I'm the tall one around here.

About Me

I'm what you might consider a tall, single stemmed "tree" Aloe with long yellowish green leaves and orange flowers. My species grow on rocky hillsides near the sea in Yemen and Saudi Arabia. We're the tallest Aloe on the Arabian Peninsula...at least as far as I know. I'll grow to be about 2 meters high someday. I usually flower in the spring and set seed soon thereafter. People seem to enjoy collecting me and I believe I have family scattered in a number of warm, frost free areas of the world. Me persoanlly, I live in a small town in Arizona of the USA. I have family in California, Arizona, and Texas. I'm really nice, kinda quiet, but a great listener. Wanna hang out?Layout Provided By FreeCodeSource.com - Myspace Layouts

My Interests

I like to just kick back and hang out with my friends and soak up the sunshine all day. I usually take a big nap when it gets too hot or too cold. I like to hybridze with other Aloes that bloom at the same time. Some might think I'm a swinger for doing that, but really it's just a social thing and we all do it.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone nice! I love friends! :)

Panic! At The Disco, Band of Horses, The Magnetic Fields, Pernice Brothers, Fool's Garden, The Stranglers, The Shins, K.T. Tunstall, Madonna.

Movies:

My people friends like to bring out a TV and DVD player every now and again. So far, I've really enjoyed Return to Oz, The Craft, Superstar, In & Out, Spirited Away, Hero, and The Rules of Attraction.

Television:

I'm sitting in the absolute wrong place in the yard, so I don't know that I'll ever be able to see the television, but should they ever decide to move me closer to the window, I'm gonna watch whatever I can!

Books:

Wildflowers of Saudi Arabia, Aloes of Tropical Africa and Madagascar

Heroes:

G.W. Reynolds, Sheila Collenette, John Lavranos, Tom McCoy. I'd like to give a shout out to all the desert Aloes! I know you guys have it really rough but still manage to flower every season! Gotta love you all! Hang in there!
